Professor David Osher

Researcher biography
Professor David Osher is a world-renowned scholar in the science of learning and development, well-being, and thriving with a focus on equity and inclusion. His expertise spans school safety, supportive school discipline, violence prevention, and how to build educator and organisational readiness to foster learning and thriving of all students.
Professor Osher is immediate past Vice President and Institute Fellow of the American Institutes for Research, having held the role from 2008 to 2025. He is a Fellow of the American Educational Research Association and Fellow of the National Academy of Education and has been bestowed numerous Honours and Awards across his career. He has also led and engaged multiple professional boards and working groupsĀ and has been a Professor and Dean of various US schools, colleges and universities.
