Knowing ABOUT the Science of Learning is one thing - mobilising it into practice in your own unique school context and scaling it across schools is a whole other challenge!
Building on your learnings from the Partner Schools project, and your expertise as educators and leaders in practice, this year’s Masterclass invites you to work alongside our Science of Learning researchers to explore how research can be translated into practice across diverse school contexts.

Casual Refreshments: Morning tea will be provided. We will conclude before lunch at 1pm, leaving you free to enjoy lunch at one of UQ’s lovely cafés, head off campus for lunch with colleagues, or make your way home or to the airport
Dr Natasha Matthews
Dr Natasha Matthews will bring her research expertise to the Masterclass, working alongside educators and leaders to explore the Science of Learning and how research can be meaningfully mobilised into practice in diverse school contexts.
Dr Jonathan Brazil
Dr Jonathan Brazil will bring his research expertise to the Masterclass, working with participants to explore how insights from the Science of Learning can inform practice and support meaningful change within schools.
Together, Dr Natasha Matthews and Dr Jonathan Brazil will share their expertise on self-regulated learning, metacognition, learning strategies and behaviour change. Alongside the UQ Learning Lab team, you will co-design practical resources to use across diverse contexts—resources that you can take with you, share, adapt and build upon in your own school community.
The Masterclass is designed to move beyond simply knowing about the Science of Learning and create an opportunity for you to work together on the challenge of putting that knowledge into practice.
